Many people think that the gold dinar or is not an investment tool; reason is to buy dinars, or gold, or not make the gold dinar could grow or increase by themselves.
This opinion is true if the point of view or the unit (unit of account) that we use is the Dinar, or gold itself. If I buy 1 dinar and I save it - it remains one dinar until whenever, then the count of Dinar - It's not an investment.
Conversely if the unit we use is the Rupiah or other paper currencies; 1 dinar that I bought end of 2006 the price is only Rp 750.000, -; now the price has reached USD 1.5 million. So the unit of Rupiah, how can the growing value of one hundred percent in 3 years can not be said as an investment?. Anyway, the deposit is growing one-fifth of the Dinar only in the last three years already said also as an investment instrument?.
Although the unit rupiah dinar value increase is so high in recent years; this is not the main purpose of Dinar in public procurement. Dinar not only to be saved, but the dinar should be able to move the actual real sector. How could this happen?, Note the graph above for a solution.
If you want your brother to invest on your business for a long time, can you do with fair use rupiah banknotes for instance?.
Try you lend your brother USD 1 billion for venture capital and you have returned three more years. How many returns do you ask?; If you have fixed USD 1 billion, then you are lost - because the value of money USD $ 1 billion in three years has diminished a lot. Conversely if you have returned with some additional value in three years - so you do not lose, then this is called Riba.
Then several Islamic financial institutions not to use contract loans or Qard, but for the results (Mudharabah) or trading on margin (Murabaha) to avoid the above situation.
Using an example of the Mudaraba contract, you invest to your brother business the USD 1 billion. The next year the money has to be Rp 1.2 billion - well good luck 20% in a year!; But then once ....; After the 50/50 revenue sharing, so you can clean the USD 100 million and your brother get a USD 100 million as well. Was it fair?. judging from the number Rupiah seem fair, but try to be seen from its purchasing power. Inflation last year was 11.8%; so even if your money is now a USD $ 1.1 billion - its purchasing power is lower than your original money USD $ 1 billion last year - so Mudaraba with these units-even Rupiah potentially unfair to each other.
So how to you Muamalah with your brother can be fair?; Use is the dinar or dirham as the recording unit. This is what is meant by Imam Ghazali in Ihya Ulmuddin - that only gold and silver was the one who could be a consideration or a fair judge in muamalah.
So both Contract loans (Qard) or for the results (Qirad / Mudharabah) Insya Allah will always be able to walk with justice by using this Dinar recording unit.
So how dinar used in the loans contract for these results - can be converted into rupiah to the real sector investment (building factories, buying raw materials, buy merchandise etc..) that currently just knew in Rupiah?.
There are two mechanisms for this currently can be performed well in this country, first you can exchange your Dinar to Rupiah in Gerai Dinar network - then use the Rupiah to your transactions in the real sector mentioned above. By the time you want to return capital to investors at the end of contract - you can switch back Rupiah your business results with the dinar - to be submitted to the investors in the form of Dinar.
Or the second way, you can pawn the dinar from investors to the mortgage or Islamic banks are now almost all have gold pawning programs. Money from this pawnshop and then to finance your real sector transactions. At the end of contract, you ransomed Dinar your mortgage with the proceeds of your efforts on the real sector.
The first (sell and buy back) is more suitable when the gold price is relatively stable; the opposite way the second (fiduciary) will be safer when the gold price as the current turmoil.
To optimize, we can calculate with relative ease on margin trading, pawning costs, the gold price statistics and other information related to the business that will be funded with this Dinar. If there is a fair instrument, why still choose an unfair. Source : Geari Dinar |
