When the Dinar and Dirham is Be Used as a Tool of Transaction
From Ayman ra said: "I went to Aisha's house, there is a women's clothes made of yarn costing five Dirhams. Aisha said: "Look sahaya sister, watch her!, He was magnificent for wearing the clothes in the house. I never wore it at the time of Prophet SAW. Every woman who wants to dress up in Medina, always sending emissaries made me borrow it. " (Sahih Bukhari, Book 47, Hadith No. 796)
It was narrated from 'Urwa: "That the Prophet gave him a dinar to buy a sheep for him. 'Urwa bought two sheep for him with the money. Then he sold one sheep for one Dinar, Dinar, and brought one along with a tail of sheep to the Prophet. On this basis the Prophet prayed to God to bless the transactions' Urwa. So 'Urwa always take advantage (of any trade) – even if he bought dust. " (In another narration) 'Urwa said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah SAW said," There is always goodness in horses till the Day of Judgement. " (Other narrators again adding "I saw 70 horses at home 'Urwa.") (Sufyan said, "The Prophet sent' Urwa to buy a sheep for him as the animal qurban.") (Sahih Bukhari, Book 56, Hadith No. 836).
It was narrated from Abdullah Ibn Umar: Umar ibn Al-Khattab gave a name Bukhti to camel for qurban. There are a bargain for camels is 300 dinars. He came to the Prophet SAW and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my camel Bukhti which I intend to offer 300 Dinar for qurban. Perhaps if I sell then I bought another camel with that money?. No, do not you just qurban this one. "(Hadith Sunan Abudawud, Book 10, Hadith No. 1752).
Lots of lessons can we learn from a series of the above hadith, include the following:
First, we can obtain a clearer perspective on life and their families Prophet and his companions. That his family and his companions lived simply and was so familiar with each other – until the clothes are beautiful Ayesha often lent to the women of Medina.
Second, the purchasing power of dirham is also relatively stable although the rate of the Dinar may fluctuate; called beautiful clothes but not excessive for a simple life Aisha – is worth 5 Dirham. With 5 Dirhams, no matter now you can still obtain a relatively beautiful clothes that are not excessive.
Third, a fair price for standard goats when it was 1 Dinar; that 'Urwah could buy two goats with 1 Dinar – this seems to be because cleverness' Urwah in trading so he was particularly prayed by the Prophet SAW. Two goats, purchased 'Urwah then one of them sold again with the price of 1 dinar and 1 other tail is maintained for the purposes of qurban Rasulullah SAW – This reinforces the fact that both the goats are sold or transferred to a goat that Rasulullah SAW is a reasonable size for the price of 1 Dinar (proof of other people want to buy 1 Dinar, and the Messenger-goat was willing to accept that he is destined as animal qurban is worth 1 dinar). One dinar is currently still able to buy a goat with a good standard – this proves how stable purchasing power of the dinar against the real thing.
Fourth, we came to know the size or value of 'luxury vehicles' when it is best camels for 300 dinars. Or if time is approximately equal high SUV Toyota Fortuner or Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Value like this is made by a friend of the Prophet SAW qurban capable as Umar. So if you ate with people who can do qurban with selected qurban animal.
Fifth, the lessons are no less interesting is the customary or habits of society at that – when using the dinar to the transaction and when to use the Dirham.
For the needs of the transaction value is not too large as to buy clothes, food everyday and others are not necessarily practical use Dinar – it is used Dirham. So now, even if we are to replace fiat money with real money for the needs of everyday transactions such as buying food and other everyday shopping, Dirham Insha Allah would be more appropriate than the Dinar.
'Urwah using goat Dinar for trade and' Camel 'Umar was also assessed in units Dinar – is a good example for the use of Dinar as trade and transactions as the scales of justice or unit of account that when the rose is now much less practical. In economic language, these transactions or practical assessment that has been done with the Dinar as in two examples of these hadith are categorized as capital goods transactions.
